Dania Duntin Brings Sweetest Wine

Sweetness is a common term of endearment, used in Caribbean culture to describe pleasurable people and experiences. For Dania Duntin, ‘sweet’ is a bit of an understatement in assessing all that she embodies. Her vivacious personality is effortlessly complimented by her vocal ability, songwriting ability, and awe-inspiring beauty substantiating her claim to being the ‘sweetest’.

Her decadent desire to excel creatively is duly reflected in her dynamic approach to the entertainment industry. Dania is easily one of the most sought-after models in the carnival costume space regionally, in addition to being the 1st Runner Up in Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2022. These ventures exemplify the multi-faceted nature of her approach to the industry but music remains embedded in her heart as her deepest, most formidable passion. She is keen on making her mark for Carnival 2023 with her latest release Sweetest Wine

A major part of my love for music is being able to express how I feel and impact others positively.  Soca is a huge part of our culture as Trinbagonians. When I listen to soca music I feel free, happy and ready to have a good time. I wanted to bring myself to the genre and help create that feeling. In addition, being able to hear and dance to my song on the road or in a fete is a huge plus, she stated

Sweetest Wine is a sonically pleasing record that captures enough of the foundational, rhythmic elements of soca with a slight afrobeat cadence. Produced by the appropriately named ‘Supa Yute’, Sweetest Wine  has the perfect congruence between Dania’s vocals and the beat, which pairs seamlessly with her carefully crafted melodic choices. Everything about Sweetest Wine feels like a breakthrough hit for Dania, whose first single Control was released a year ago. Her evolution from Control to Sweetest Wine, is evidenced by the maturity in the writing and the mellifluous vocal delivery she executes.

“The inspiration behind the song essentially came from missing carnival for so long, the anticipation has been built so high that when we touch the road we are giving the sweetest wine. It was written whilst I was in the gym working out lol. It was produced by “Supa Youth” Joshua Salcedo and recorded at Mogul Recordings. ” she articulated in detailing the process of creating the buzz-worthy track.

There is an overwhelming sense of excitement around Dania Duntin’s career in Trinidad and Tobago and we are optimistic that Sweetest Wine will be another noteworthy step towards her achieving ascension in the competitive music industry. After the carnival season has ended, the multi-hyphenated entertainer has her eyes set on releasing her first solo EP.
